Get your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch ready for service.

 

Before bringing the device to MCC, please follow the steps below. If your device won’t turn on or respond, go ahead and complete as many steps as you can.

1.Make a backup

2. Have your Apple ID password

Have your Apple ID password at Hand. For some repairs, you’ll need your Apple ID password to erase your device and turn off Find My iPhone.*

 3. Collect information

Bring your purchase receipt in case you must present proof of purchase in order to perform the repair.

4. Get your devices ready

Bring your device and any accessories that you need help  with.

5. Complete the form

Contact our Service Center to coordinate the take in of the equipment by filling out the form.
*If you can’t turn off Find My iPhone, Apple may not be able to repair your device. The purpose of this policy is to prevent unauthorized persons from tampering with the device without your knowledge. If you don’t remember your Apple ID or password, go to
iForgot.

Before you turn in your Mac for service, follow the steps below to protect your information and save time.

 

 

1. Make a backup

Backing up is an important step when preparing your Mac for service. Time Machine makes it easy to back up and restore all your files, although other backup methods are available as well. Learn how to back up your Mac.

2. Collect information

If you still have your purchase receipt, present it at the point of service. You also need your Apple ID password and a personal identification document, such as a driver’s license, passport, or other official identification. You should know your macOS user account name and password in case you need to log in to your Mac when you’re at the point of service. And if you are also using a firmware password, please disable it before service.

3. Apple ID password

Have your Apple ID password ready. For almost all repairs, you’ll need your Apple ID password to log out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone.

 

Do not forget to take into account the following steps.

Unpair the device(s)

If you need to service an Apple Watch, AirPods (any generation) and /or AirTag that is paired with an iPhone, Please unpair the device.

Turn off iMessage

Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.

Turn off Activation Lock

Go to Settings > [your name] > Find My [device] and then turn off Find My [device] to disable Activation Lock. Enter your Apple ID password and tap Turn Off.

Remove the information

Erase the content of the device. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase content and settings. If prompted, enter your Apple ID code and password. If you can’t erase your device because it won’t turn on or respond, you can do so from iCloud.com. Learn how to do it.

Remove the SIM card

Please remove the SIM card, case and screen protector from the device and do not include the cable and charger.
